NGC 2419 - The "Intergalactic Tramp" Globular Cluster in Lynx
Imaged from Nova Scotia, Winter, 2026
The whimsical name, "intergalactic tramp" or "wanderer," stems from the cluster's extreme distance from the galactic center, some 300,000 light years. This places NGC 2419 considerably further from the galactic center than either of the Magellanic Clouds.
